Wilderness Wellness holidays in France
Peak Retreats introduces new holiday experiences to their summer programme
Peak Retreats, the award-winning French Alps specialist providing quality accommodation in French resorts, are introducing several new additions to its 2020 summer programme, including a new Wilderness Wellness experience. The newly added properties in the Auvergne and Jura, new areas of the French mountains for Peak Retreats, offer a full experiential break in summer, with additional facilities, access to activities, as well as wellness and spa packages. The tour operator also offers the opportunity to watch stage 16 of the Tour de France, which finishes in Villard de Lans on Bastille day this July.
New experiential summer holidays in the French mountains
Peak Retreats has added a new wellness break concept to its summer programme for 2020 at the Instants d’Absolu Ecolodge and Spa. The recently restored 300-year-old farmhouse has 12 luxury bedrooms and is set amongst the volcanic natural park of the Auvergne. The Ecolodge encourages guests to reconnect with their own well-being and with nature, facilitated by the lakeside restaurant, outdoor chalet-grill, and outdoor hot-tub. The natural landscape of the nearby pine forest, lakes and the Massif de la Pinatelle make an idyllic setting for the 4-night ‘Wilderness Wellness’ package, perfect for couples. The new package includes a full itinerary with full-board meals (using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients), outdoor yoga sessions, guided nature walks, and spa treatments. Prices from £1330pp for the 4 nights full-board ‘Wilderness Wellness’ package, based on 2 sharing a Classic room.
Luxury resort for an activity packed holiday
The tour operator has also added the Jiva Hill Resort in Jura to its summer programme for 2020. The luxury 5-star property is found in a 110-acre private estate at the foothills of the Jura mountains and is just a short drive from Geneva airport. The resort and surrounding area offer plenty for visitors, making it a great destination for an activity-packed family holiday. In the Monts Jura area there are via-ferratas, e-bikes, and treetop adventure courses, as well as the opportunity of other nearby visits, such as to Chateau de Voltaire. The luxury resort has exceptional facilities, including a 1000m2 wellness area with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, steam room, sauna, and Nordic Spa. Jiva Hill also offers several restaurants, a golf course, tennis courts, free bike hire, water-skiing lake, as well as fitness, cinema and games room, and free WiFi throughout.
Tour de France mountain stage on Bastille Day
The alpine resort town of Villard de Lans, found in the Vercors regional natural park, is also featured on Peak Retreats’ new summer programme for 2020. With a very short transfer from Grenoble airport, the area offers a number of visits and activities including local caves and Nordic walking. This year also sees the Tour de France ending stage 16 of the race in the town on Bastille day – July 14th 2020. Self-catered stays in the historic Grand Epoque hotel, Le Splendid, now converted into apartments, offer a convenient location in the centre of the resort. Prices from £164pp for 7 nights self-catered, based on 4 staying in a 2-bedroom apartment.
Value for money in the French Alps
Alongside these additions, Peak Retreats features its range of four-star self-catered apartments in resorts across the French Alps. These apartments offer exceptional value for money in the summer holidays with early booking offers applying even on August dates in selected properties. The traditional mountain resorts featured offer a range of activities in summer from walking and mountain biking to paragliding and most of our properties also have an indoor pool.
