Year round flights from the UK to Geneva offer a huge choice of stunning holiday destinations throughout the Alps.

The Portes du Soleil are justifiably popular with winter skiers, but this beaufitful and highly accessible area also has a lot to offer in summer, as families and other holiday visitors are rapidly discovering.
Big savings – in a deservedly popular area
Gone, it seems, are the days when mountain holidays were perceived as too expensive, too complicated, not user friendly, or only suited to the young and super-fit. In 2009 the Portes du Soleil area (set in the northern French Alps between Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc) launched a unique offer designed to show families that a mountain holiday can be not only an enjoyable break, but a great value holiday too. The introduction of the Multi Pass, giving access to a range of activities for just €1 (or 1.50 Swiss francs) per day, proved so successful that summer tourism is showing a healthy increase throughout this huge area. In 2010 a whole host of new activities signed up to offer Multi Pass holders discounted rates, and now mountain bikers staying with registered accommodation providers also automatically receive all the advantages of this card.

With 25 chairlifts accessible to pedestrians, everyone can enjoy the freedom of the mountains.
Pass sales “beyond expectation...”
‘The Multi Pass opens up the mountains to summer holiday makers. The Portes du Soleil is now a great value holiday for everyone!’The area has seen both sales and usage of Multi Passes rising beyond expectations since its introduction in 2009. In summer 2010 Pass sales hit 289,073 (an increase of 20% on the first year) and the sector around Châtel reported a 250% increase in the number of walkers using the chairlifts since the introduction of the passes. The bigger picture is similarly impressive, with almost 510,000 uses of the Portes du Soleil’s lift system by walkers.
What’s on offer?

Great – where do I buy one?
The Multi Pass can be bought at
any lift pass office in the Portes du Soleil area and is valid from the 11th June to 11th September for anyone staying in one of the 2000 participating accommodation providers. A hands-free card must be bought at the same
time (€1, non-reimbursable). The Pass itself costs just €1 (1.50CHF) per day for unlimited access to all 55 activities and attractions – children 5 years and under go free. For day visitors and residents, the card costs €6 (9CHF) per day or €50 (75CHF) for the season - still great value.
In addition, over 30 non-included activities and attractions offer Multi Pass holders a discount of 20% or
more. Included are activities such as the
summer luge, high roped adventure parks,
mini golf, the Fantasticable zip-wire and many more.
