Overseas Homesearch Director Philip Barker, comments on the Canadian Property Market
Why Canada appeals to the British market
Canada is renowned as one of the most beautiful countries in the world and with living standards that are hard to beat. Canada offers excellent services, friendly and welcoming people, no language difficulties for the English speaking visitor, affordable cost of living, an engaging culture, four distinct seasons and stunning scenery. Of course winter provides a Mecca for the ski and snowboard enthusiast with fantastic snowfall, vast mountain ranges offering all levels of challenge, some of the world's best lift systems, excellent piste grooming and queues a rarity. Canada’s glorious summers mean that the active outdoor enthusiast can enjoy everything from mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing, amazing international standard golf courses and much more. Canada does offer a diverse and absorbing place for the whole family to explore and an experience that is never disappointing and endlessly engaging.
The state of the Canadian market at the moment
Canada remains one of the most popular places in the world to live and the strength of the pound is maintaining that level of interest.
Advantages of buying in Canada
There is so much space that over building is unlikely and add to that strong build/planning regulations, high build standards and generous room dimensions makes Canada an ideal place for a family home abroad. Furthermore, budget long haul airlines such as Zoom are making flights much more easily affordable.
Canada has a steady, sustainable capital growth prospects and together with the strong pound, investments in Canada look safe and attractive. In the high quality resorts, demand is high for rental property so the likelihood of being able to rent a home in Canada is also very good.
